Step 1: Add the Device to Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager

Ensure the device is already added to ABM or ASM following the steps above.

Step 2: Enable Shared iPad

  1. In your MDM platform, configure a profile with the Shared iPad feature:

    • Go to the MDM console and create a new configuration profile.

    • Select Enable Shared iPad under iPad-specific settings.

    • Set user quotas and specify the maximum number of users if supported by your MDM.

  2. Assign the profile to the enrolled iPads.

  3. Once the device receives the configuration profile, the Shared iPad feature will be enabled.

Final Steps

  • After enrolling devices, check the status in Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager to confirm the devices are listed under your account.
