[How-To] Enroll Linux devices via Swif Installer

This guide provides a detailed walkthrough on enrolling a Linux device into the Swif Portal. To install via command lines, you can visit this article instead.

Step 1: Navigate to the desktop app download center located in the right sidebar. Alternatively, download the installer directly from the enrollment email received from team admins.

Step 2: Select the Linux option.

Step 3: Choose the correct system processor architecture for the device. This step is crucial for downloading and installing the correct installer for the Linux device.

Step 4: Click Download and wait for the download to complete on the device.

Step 5: Extract the downloaded compressed file and navigate to the folder.

Step 6: Open the terminal inside the downloaded compressed folder and run the ./SwifAgentInstaller file.

Step 7: The installer will start. Continue the enrollment process.

Step 8: Enter the admin password on the prompted screen and fill in the first and last name of the corresponding assigned employee.

Step 9: Mark whether this is a bring-your-own-device or not.

Step 10: Start the installation.

During this step, a Swif admin user will be created on the Linux device. The Swif agent installation on the device may take some time.

Step 11: Wait for the installation process to complete.

Once the Swif installation is complete, the device is enrolled in Swif.

Step 12: Check the device information in the device inventory.

The enrolled device is now successfully integrated into the Swif Portal.
