Migrate Mosyle-managed Mac machines to Swif

Updated over 2 weeks ago

You can find your silent installer here.

Before you start

- You’ll keep Mosyle as the MDM during the transition and use it only to deploy the Swif PKG.

- Have your Swif silent installer PKG ready. Download it from: https://help.swif.ai/en/articles/10023949-deploy-swif-silently-on-mac-macos-machines

- Confirm the target Macs are online and checking in to Mosyle.

Goal

Install the Swif agent via Mosyle so the device begins reporting into Swif (without disrupting the end user).

Step-by-step

1) Upload the Swif PKG to Mosyle.

2) Create a Mosyle profile to install the PKG.

3) Assign the profile to a device group.

4) Verify the install on a test Mac, then roll out.

Upload Swif silent installer PKG to Mosyle

In Mosyle, go to Management > Management Profiles > Install PKG.

Open the PKGs section, upload the Swif PKG, then click ALREADY HAVE A .PKG.

After the PKG upload finishes, go to the PROFILE tab and create a new profile using the settings shown in the screenshot. Create (or select) a Device Group and assign it to the profile so only the intended Macs receive the install.

Save the profile. Mosyle will push the PKG to devices in that group. Verify on a test Mac that the Swif agent installed successfully and that the device appears in Swif. Then expand the device group to roll out to the rest of your fleet.
