Overview
Swif Mobile Security for iOS/iPadOS is a natively written management agent designed to ensure enterprise-grade security and compliance for iOS and iPadOS devices within your organization. Acting as a dedicated security layer, the app provides real-time visibility into device health, enforces critical security policies, and offers a self-service portal for organization-approved applications.
Key Features
Real-time Compliance Monitoring: Your device's compliance status is now wired directly to real MDM data. The app synchronizes with your organization's console in real-time, ensuring that the security status you see on your iPhone or iPad accurately reflects the administrative view.
Self-Service App Catalog: Discover and install IT-approved applications directly from your device. The app supports both standard IT-approved catalogs and Apple’s Volume Purchase Program (VPP) for managed licenses.
Flexible Authentication: Access the app securely using your enterprise work email (via Auth0) or your Apple ID. For quick checks, a "Continue as Guest" option allows you to view basic compliance status without a full login.
Integrated Activity Feed: Stay informed with a dedicated feed of security and compliance events. The activity feed tracks status changes, such as when a device becomes non-compliant or when policies are updated, keeping you aligned with organization requirements.
Getting Started
Automatic Deployment
Swif Mobile Security for iOS is designed for seamless integration with Swif’s MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution. Upon successful enrollment of an iOS device into the Swif ecosystem, the mobile app is automatically deployed to the device.
Authentication
Users can access the application through three primary methods:
Work Email: Secure, enterprise-level authentication integrated via Auth0.
Sign in with Apple: Use your personal or managed Apple ID for a streamlined login experience.
Continue as Guest: Allows users to view basic device compliance status and non-compliance reasons without requiring a full login.
Self-Service App Management
The iOS app introduces a robust self-service experience for managing software:
IT-Approved Catalog: When signed in with a personal Apple ID, users can browse and install a curated list of apps approved by their IT department.
VPP Catalog: For users with a Managed Apple ID, the VPP Catalog provides access to organization-licensed software.
License Control: Users can manage their VPP licenses directly, with the ability to remove or restore licenses for installed apps as needed.
Understanding Compliance States
The application provides clear, visual indicators of the device's current security status:
Device is compliant: The device meets all security requirements and policies.
Device is not compliant: One or more security requirements are not met, requiring user or admin intervention.
Checking...: The agent is currently validating security requirements against the latest policies using the real MDM device identifier.
Technical Specifications
Architecture: Built using the Flutter framework for high performance and consistent behavior across the iOS ecosystem.
Data Integration: Utilizes GraphQL for efficient, real-time data retrieval and compliance wiring.
Device Identification: Wired to unique, MDM-enrolled device identifiers to ensure accurate data mapping and reporting.
