This guide shows admins how to set a BYOD enrollment PIN (BYOD code), share it with users, and where users enter it during BYOD enrollment.
Set up BYOD PIN
Set a BYOD PIN (BYOD code). This PIN is required for BYOD enrollment and is shared across your organization. If you never changed it, the default is typically 0101.
Send BYOD PIN to the user
Share the BYOD PIN with the user via your preferred channel (email/Slack). If you send an enrollment email from Swif, include the PIN in the instructions so the user has it when prompted.
Enter the BYOD PIN at the enrollment
During enrollment, the installer will prompt the user for the BYOD PIN. Enter the current PIN and continue. If you see an “invalid code” error, confirm you’re using the latest PIN configured in the admin panel (PIN changes apply org-wide).
After entering the BYOD PIN, macOS may prompt for additional permissions so the Swif agent can function properly. Follow the on-screen prompts and complete the install. (See also: Swif agent permission request: https://help.swif.ai/en/articles/6946044-swif-agent-permission-request)
