Overview
Swif.ai is excited to announce its new integration with Azure Active Directory (Entra ID)! This feature allows you to seamlessly sync your Azure AD users with Swif’s employee directory, ensuring a unified, accurate, and up-to-date record of your workforce. Similar to our integration with Deel, this Azure AD integration simplifies employee onboarding, offboarding, and directory management.
Benefits of Azure AD Integration
Real-Time Syncing: Keep your employee directory up-to-date automatically as changes are made in Azure AD.
Streamlined Onboarding: New Azure AD users are automatically added to Swif’s directory, ensuring fast provisioning of devices and access permissions.
Efficient Offboarding: When employees are removed from Azure AD, their access and devices are automatically flagged for deactivation in Swif.
Seamless Collaboration: A unified directory helps IT, HR, and compliance teams stay aligned and efficient.
How to Set Up the Azure AD Integration
Follow these steps to integrate Azure AD with Swif and start syncing your users:
1. Enable Azure AD Integration in Swif
Log in to your Swif Admin Console.
Navigate to Employees > Add Employees > Connect New HRIS > Connect to Azure AD.
Click to continue
2. Authorize Swif in Azure AD
Log in to your Azure account if asked.
3. Sync employees
Once the setup is complete, click Sync to choose full import or partial import.
Full import will bring everyone. Partial import can let you choose who to import.
Verify that users have been added to the Swif Employee Directory.
Auto-sync user groups
You can now keep users and user groups in Swif automatically in sync with Azure AD (Entra ID). This is useful if you only import certain groups and want Swif to pick up changes as you make them in Okta.
How to set up auto-sync
Choose what to import:
Full import: brings in everyone.
Limited import, by users: you pick specific users.
Limited import, by groups: you pick specific user groups.
Choose whether to turn on auto-sync for that import.
Note: Auto-sync is off by default for new HRIS connections. You need to turn it on yourself.
What auto-sync updates
Import type | New users imported | Existing user details updated (for example, address changes) |
Full import | ✅ | ✅ |
Limited import, users | — | ✅ |
Limited import, groups | ✅ | ✅ |
With auto-sync on for a group, adding or removing users in Okta changes that group's membership in Swif at the next sync.
Selecting groups for a limited import
Groups you've already synced still appear in the group list, with their sync and auto-sync status.
If a group was synced without auto-sync, it's grayed out and can't be selected.
Seeing sync status
HRIS tag: User groups imported from your HRIS have a tag showing where they came from.
Last sync column: The HRIS sync table shows whether the last sync was Full or Limited.
HRIS Details panel: Shows what was added in the last sync:
Full import: which users were synced last.
Limited import: which groups were synced last and which users were added.
