Overview
Apple School Manager (ASM) can be linked to Swif using the same integration flow as Apple Business Manager (ABM).
Once connected, Swif can help your organization manage Apple devices purchased or assigned through Apple School Manager, including automated device enrollment and centralized device management.
This is useful for schools and education organizations that want to enroll supervised Apple devices into Swif without requiring manual setup on each device.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have:
Access to your Apple School Manager account
Administrator permissions in Apple School Manager
Administrator access to Swif
Access to the MDM server settings in Apple School Manager
Steps
To link Apple School Manager with Swif, follow the same steps used for Apple Business Manager.
See the full setup guide here:
When following the guide, use your Apple School Manager account instead of an Apple Business Manager account.
Notes
Apple School Manager and Apple Business Manager use the same Apple device management connection model for MDM server linking.
Devices must be assigned to the Swif MDM server in Apple School Manager before they can enroll automatically.
After devices are assigned, they may need to be erased or newly set up before Automated Device Enrollment takes effect.
Keep your Apple server token up to date to prevent enrollment or sync issues.
Security & Admin Impact
Linking Apple School Manager to Swif allows IT administrators to:
Automatically enroll school-owned Apple devices
Apply device policies during setup
Maintain centralized visibility over managed Apple devices
Reduce manual configuration for students, faculty, and staff
