Overview
Connect Swif to Deel to bring your employee directory into Swif. You can turn on automatic sync so your employee records stay current without manual updates.
Before you begin
You need a Deel account that can approve app access for your organization.
Swif only asks Deel for read access to contracts (
contracts:read). It doesn't make any changes in Deel.
Step 1: Connect Deel
In Swif, go to Employees and click Add employees.
Open Add New HRIS and click Connect Deel.
Swif sends you to Deel. Sign in and approve the permission request.
Deel sends you back to Swif, where a confirmation message appears.
Deel now shows up in your HRIS connections table.
Step 2: Choose what to import
Import type | What it does |
Full import | Imports every employee in your Deel directory. Works with all Deel connection types. |
Limited import (users) | Imports only the employees you pick from the list. |
Note: You can't import user groups from Deel. Deel doesn't let apps look up group members, so you can't sync users by group. Use Full import or Limited import (users) instead.
Step 3: Turn on automatic sync (optional)
After you import, you can keep Swif in sync with Deel automatically.
On the Sync with HRIS page, find your Deel connection.
Turn on the toggle in the Automation column.
What automatic sync updates:
Import type | New hires imported automatically? | Changes to existing employees updated (e.g., address)? |
Full import | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes |
Limited import (users) | ❌ No | ✅ Yes |
Tip: If you want new Deel hires added to Swif automatically, use Full import with automatic sync turned on.
Step 4: Review sync activity
Last sync column: shows when the last sync ran and whether it was a Full or Limited sync.
HRIS Details panel: lists the users added or updated in the last sync.
Dates appear as
yyyy-mm-dd. Timestamps appear asyyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss.
FAQ

Will a limited import with automatic sync add new hires?
No. A limited import only keeps the employees you already selected up to date. To add new hires automatically, use Full import.
Does Swif write data back to Deel?
No. Swif's access to Deel is read-only.
