Overview
The Swif connector for Claude connects Claude to your Swif tenant. Once it's connected, you can ask Claude about your organization's devices, employees, teams, and the apps and browser extensions installed across your fleet, in plain language. Claude answers with live data from Swif.
It works with the Macs, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android devices you manage in Swif. Chromebook support is coming soon.
This connector is designed for IT and security teams that manage their devices with Swif.
Important: The connector can't change, lock, or wipe devices, or delete employees. For your organization's safety, the connector can only read device data, and its only changes are adding an employee or moving one to another team. Claude makes those changes only when you ask, and only after confirming the details with you. Only your organization's data is visible.
What you can do
Devices
List your devices, and filter them by team, owner, or status
Find devices that aren't encrypted, or that haven't checked in recently
See the apps and browser extensions installed on a device
Find every device that has a given app installed
Employees and teams
List employees, and see who's on a team
Add an employee, after Claude confirms the details with you
Move an employee to another team, after Claude confirms the details with you
What you can't do
Change device settings, or lock or wipe devices
Delete employees
See Swif's official compliance verdict for a device. Claude can describe a device's encryption, antivirus, and password manager status, but for the official compliant or non-compliant status, use the Swif console.
Requirements
Requirement | Details |
Swif | A Swif UEM account |
Swif API key | Created in the Swif admin console. See Your API key. |
Claude | A Claude plan that supports connectors. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner may need to turn on the connector before members can connect it. |
Keep your API key secure. Anyone with it can read your organization's Swif data, and add or move employees.
Connect Swif to Claude
Open the Swif listing in Claude's Connectors Directory, and select Connect.
Sign in when Claude asks.
On the Swif connection page, enter your Swif API key.
Accept the agreement, and approve the connection.
Claude shows Swif as connected.
Start a new chat, and ask a question about your devices.
You only enter your API key once. The connection stays signed in, even after a long break.
Use Swif in Claude Desktop and mobile
Connectors from Claude's directory work across Claude's apps, so you can also ask about your Swif data in Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile app.
Example questions
Devices
"List my Swif devices."
"Which devices are unencrypted?"
"Which devices haven't checked in this week?"
"List all devices in the team named exactly 'Engineering'."
Apps and extensions
"Who has Zoom installed?"
"What browser extensions are on Alex's laptop?"
Employees and teams
"List all employees in the team named exactly 'Engineering'."
"Add Jordan Lee, jordan@example.com, to the Sales team."
"Move Alex to the Marketing team."
Tips for better answers
Use exact team names. For example, "the team named exactly 'QA'."
Ask for a summary first. For large fleets, Claude gives a short summary and offers the full list, or a way to narrow it down.
What data Claude can see
Data | Details |
Devices | Name, type, operating system and version, owner, team, encryption status, last check-in, and whether antivirus and a password manager are installed |
Apps and extensions | Apps and browser extensions installed on each device |
Employees | Name, email, status, position, department, and team |
Teams | Team names. Employees are matched to their primary team only. |
How Claude handles results
Large results: if there are more than 100 devices, Claude tells you there are more results, instead of treating the first page as the full list.
Missing data: fields that Swif doesn't have are shown as unknown. Claude doesn't guess values.
Whole organization: device and employee data covers your whole organization, unless you ask about a specific team.
Switch to another Swif tenant
If you manage more than one Swif tenant, such as an MSP:
In Claude, open Customize > Connectors, and select Disconnect for Swif.
Connect again, and enter the other tenant's API key.
Claude then shows only the new tenant's data.
Disconnect Swif
In Claude, open Customize > Connectors, and disconnect or remove Swif. Claude can no longer access your Swif data, and asks you to sign in again if you ask about Swif.
To stop all access immediately, you can also revoke the API key in the Swif admin console.
Troubleshooting
The connection page rejects my API key
Check that you copied the whole key, and that it hasn't been revoked in the Swif admin console. Create a new key if needed.
Claude says "Authentication required"
The connection was removed, or it needs to be renewed. Connect Swif again.
Claude says there are more results
Your fleet has more devices than fit in one answer. Ask for the full list, or narrow your question, for example by team, operating system, or status.
Claude can't find a team
Use the team's exact name, such as "the team named exactly 'Engineering'." Check the name in the Swif console.
Claude doesn't show a device's compliance status
The connector doesn't include Swif's official compliance verdict. Claude can describe the device's encryption, antivirus, and password manager status. Check the official status in the Swif console.
Claude asked me to confirm before adding an employee
This is expected. Claude confirms the details before it makes any change in Swif.
A device setting or lock request doesn't work
This is expected. For your organization's safety, the connector can't change, lock, or wipe devices. Use the Swif console instead.
