Warning: Wipe is irreversible and permanently deletes data on the device. Make sure you’re selecting the correct device and that any needed files are backed up before continuing. Check out How Swif.ai Protects Critical Device Management APIs.
1) In the Swif Admin Console, go to Devices > Inventory.
2) Find the device you want to wipe, then click the three dots (...).
3) In the device details view, click Manage > Wipe Data
4) Choose a wipe type:
- Soft wipe: removes user accounts and keeps only the Swif Admin account.
- Full wipe: factory-resets the computer back to its original setup state.
Tip: Use Soft wipe when you’re reassigning the device internally. Use Full wipe when the device is leaving your organization, or you need a clean re-provision.
5) Click Continue and confirm the wipe.
What happens next
The device will begin wiping and, once complete, will reboot to the setup screens. The time can vary based on device and network connectivity.
For example, this is after a wipe action for macOS.
