Introduction to Remote Desktop Feature
Updated over a month ago

In this video, I will introduce you to a new feature that allows you to remote desktop to a device. I will show you how to connect to a device, assign policies, and launch the remote desktop viewer. By following these steps, you will be able to control the remote desktop as long as the permission is granted.

  1. Make sure your target device has a remote desktop policy deployed. You can hover over it to see if a remote desktop policy has been deployed to the device.

Please note, that for Windows, the target computer needs a restart after the remote desktop policy is deployed on the machine to have the remote desktop fully enabled.

  2. If the device has the remote desktop policy and is online, you can connect to it by clicking the Remote Desktop button. You will need to install a viewer application to launch the remote desktop feature. This is a one-time installation on your device.
Then click "Launch Application" when you are ready.

  3. Click "Splashtop for RMM" to launch the remote desktop.

  4. Now you can see the remote desktop of the target device. Remember, the target device needs to grant "required" permission so you can remotely control it. Otherwise, you can only view it.
