Prevent device users from unenrolling

Updated this week

Swif helps prevent end users from removing device management by setting a unique MDM unenrollment (removal) password during enrollment. Without this password, the user can’t remove the MDM profile.

How it works

  • Swif sets an unenrollment/removal password on the device’s MDM profile during enrollment.

  • The password is randomly generated per device (each device has a different password).

Where to find the unenrollment (removal) password

  1. In the Swif Admin Console, open the device.

  2. Go to Device details → Security.

  3. Find MDM unenrollment/removal password.

How to remove Swif from a device (admin-only)

Use one of the following options:

Option A — Use the unenrollment password (in-person)

  • Provide the unenrollment/removal password to an authorized admin who is physically on the device.

  • The admin can then remove the MDM profile using that password.

Option B — Remove management from the Swif Admin Console

  • Use the Swif admin console action to remove the Swif agent / management from the device (recommended when available).

Security note

  • Treat the unenrollment/removal password like an admin credential.

  • Share it only with trusted admins.

  • Remove access when admins leave the organization (offboarding best practice).
